As Prof. Bazeyo says it over and over, ‘we shall always strive to ‘be a contribution’ using him as an example’

A few days ago, the RAN Secretariat received very good news regarding the appointment of Prof. William Bazeyo, the RAN Chief of Party and Lab Director as the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor In-Charge of Finance and Administration (DVC-F&A), Makerere University in Kampala Uganda. This is the second highest position in the technical hierarchy of the university, Uganda’s biggest and leading highest institution of learning. ‘The entire RAN network will agree with me that this is a very well-deserved elevation for Prof. Bazeyo. Not only has he spearheaded the culture of working in and leveraging from cross-disciplinary teams in the institution, continent and globe at large, but also contributed invaluably to establishing very robust research, science and innovation networks across Africa and beyond’ noted Harriet Adong, RAN Communications Manager.

Prof. Bazeyo has been at the fore-front of building partnerships to enhance the livelihoods of communities in Africa and beyond, we are certain that he will ably run the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor at Makerere University. The new position is a strategic one as it is pivotal to the expansion of Makerere’s networks, growth and partnerships. We have no doubt that in choosing Prof. Bazeyo, Makerere has made a very productive decision.

Once again join the ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) team in congratulating Prof. Bazeyo upon this well-deserved appointment.
