It is our pleasure to invite you to the EVAWG Innovations Bazaar scheduled to take place on Thursday 6th December, 2018 from 4 – 7:00pm atRAN Innovation Lab – Makerere University Annex, Upper Kololo Terrace.

The Chief Guest is: H.E per Lindgarde, Ambassador – Embassy of Sweden in Uganda

Makerere University School of Public Health – ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) in partnership with the Empowerment of Women (UN Women)has been nurturing social innovations geared towards ending violence against women and girls. Through a robust incubation program the teams were able to design, experiment, carry out field immersion and empathy research in northern Uganda but also develop and test their prototype solutions.

The main purpose of the event is to showcase the ground breaking innovative solutions to a multi-sectoral audience and distinguished guests but also to provide a match making opportunity for the innovators to build mutually beneficial lasting linkages with implementing partners and flagship programs in the ecosystem whose work is geared towards ending violence against women and girls. These linkages could provide the innovators with the much needed resources to hone their skills, expand their ventures such as market connections, promotion, visibility and funding among other opportunities. Representatives from Missions, Government, Uganda Police Force, representatives from CSOs, Development Partners, Private sector, Social entrepreneurs, Community, Academia and the Media are also expected to attend the event.

During this event we are also joining the rest of the world in the 16 days of Activism under the international theme: “End Gender Based Violence in the World of Work”

Your participation will greatly honor all the participants especially the young and social entrepreneurs as we jointly nurture their ideas to benefit millions of vulnerable girls and women around the world.
