Makerere University School of Public Health ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) as a Conference Sponsor actively joined in the International Conference of the African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE2016) http://aarse2016.org/This Conference, which brought together over 350 international participants was held from October 24 to 28, 2016 at Hotel Africana, Kampala Uganda. While at the conference, other than heavily getting involved in networking and engagement of key stakeholders, the RAN Team was engaged in the following activities;

  • Moderation of the conference opening session which was graced by Uganda’s Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda flanked by several government, non-government and private sector dignitaries among others.
  • Making two presentations on Tuesday 25 and Friday 28, October 2016 on Community Resilience Policy Options through Deliberative Polling in Eastern Uganda: A case of Bududa and Butalejja Districts and Pathway model using a wealth resilience dimension scale associated with climate variability in Uganda respectively.
  • Up to 8 teams of the RAN Innovators also joined in the Exhibition of some of the trans-formative Solutions being incubated in the RAN Eastern Africa Resilience Innovation Lab.
