‘Up to $350,000 in Grant Funding available’
Excitingly, on Wednesday October 16, 2019, ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the Household Solar Workforce Development Challenge! The Household Solar Workforce Development Challenge was launched at the Unlocking Solar Capital Africa Conference in Dakar, Senegal.
USAID leads international development and humanitarian efforts to save lives, reduce poverty, strengthen democratic governance and help people progress beyond assistance.
The Challenge will award up to $350,000 in grant funding to support scalable, innovative, third-party training solutions to the off-grid solar home system sector’s workforce needs in sub-Saharan Africa. USAID is supporting this Challenge run by the ResilientAfrica Network (RAN).
Grant funding is available for companies or organizations seeking to pilot or expand workforce development operations that train management staff, technicians, or sales agents in the off-grid solar home system sector across sub-Saharan Africa. Please note that eligibility is limited to brand-agnostic organizations who provide training to staff across multiple companies, and not to individual companies seeking to strengthen internal workforce development programs.
Awards will range from USD100, 000-350,000 Only. The application window is open from 16 October to 15 December 2019.
